Objective
This document outlines the data handling policy between the gdpr-extensions.com dashboard, Google and user’s wordpress project We have developed 7 WordPress plugins to display Google reviews on user’s wordpress sites in different styling. In order to publish these plugins to the WordPress repository, the readme files should clearly state the data privacy and handling policies.

1. Google Reviews Integration

  • What the service is and what it is used for:
     The plugin connects to Google Reviews via the user’s Google account to fetch and sync reviews. This allows users to display their reviews locally on WordPress websites.
     
  • What data is sent and when:
    • Upon user authentication, the plugin fetches the necessary reviews data (such as review content, rating, and timestamps) from the user’s connected Google account.
    • Authentication is conducted securely via OAuth 2.0.
    • No sensitive user credentials are stored.
  • Where and how the data is stored:
    • Reviews are stored locally on the user’s system for faster access and offline reliability.
    • The data remains accessible only to the authorized user who initiated the connection.
  • Conditions for use:
    • Data is only accessed and stored when the user initiates a sync via the plugin or gdpr-extensions.com dashboard.
    • Reviews can be updated or deleted by the user at any time.

2. gdpr-extensions.com Service

  • What the service is and what it is used for:
     The plugin communicates with gdpr-extensions.com to manage the Reviews Hub, which acts as a central location for organizing, syncing, and connecting reviews to WordPress projects.
  • What data is sent and when:
    • During setup, the user copies an API key from the gdpr-extensions.com dashboard to connect the plugin to their WordPress project.
    • Reviews data is synced between gdpr-extensions.com and the WordPress site only upon user action.
  • Where and how the data is stored:
    • Data from the Reviews Hub is stored locally on the WordPress site for display and management purposes.
    • No unnecessary or excessive data is transferred.
  • Conditions for use:
    • Users must initiate all data syncs and connections manually.
    • The service does not access or share data beyond what is required for functionality.
